Paige Abrahams was born a cerebral palsy child on 22 December 1994. She passed away five years ago at her parents’ home in Bothasig, near Cape Town, leaving fond memories behind. For the past four years close friends and family of Mr. Jerome Fortune and his wife Dawn Fortune are getting together at their home to commemorate their late daughter’s life. On 22 December 2016, it was her crown birthday. At this occasion white homing pigeons were released into the sky from their home as a symbol of their love. This year, close friends and family gathered at Doodle’s restaurant in Blaauwberg on the Cape’s west coats, to CONTINUE this annual event. After the white homing pigeons were released from Beach Road in Blaauwberg, they took to the sky, circled around for a while before they found their direction home. Unavoidable tears ran down my cheeks as images of a shy and BRAVE girl came rushing down the corridors of my mind.
